“Caryn facilitated an amazing weekend for 9 people who barely knew each other at the beginning. I left feeling like I had a new group of close friends. She facilitated activities that were joyful and pushed me into my growth zone in a safe and super fun way. The weekend was an experience I will always treasure and the connections I made will continue to light up my life. Thank you Caryn!”

“That was such a fun program: The activities were thoughtful, thought provoking, and playful at the same time. Caryn is a natural group facilitator, gently directing us to a purposeful conversation while offering a comfortable, safe environment. I left with some new insights into my own needs and how to deepen my existing friendships.”

“Caryn has an amazing, innate ability to bring a group of strangers together for a memorable, collaborative experience. Caryn is able to read deep into group dynamics as well as tap into commonalities and foster connections that weren't previously there through discussion, team-building activities, lots of laughter, and debriefing of the activity day.”

Technology timeout: Put your phone away and on silent unless you need your device to aid your participation.
Monitor your microphone: Be aware of how much you are contributing in conversations and activities and allow for pauses for others to process and jump in. If you are someone who rarely shares, this is a space to try to chime in a little more!
Normalize repair: Misunderstandings occur and conflict is natural, normalize repair too! Ask a clarifying question before reacting and apologize when you cause harm, even if unintentional.
Notice nuance: Try to understand, bridge, and/or build on others' perspectives by noticing the nuance and complexity in their views or experiences.
Practice play: Playfulness is a core value at Found. We encourage moments of levity and leaning into your goofy inner child.
Wisdom doesn’t have a birthdate or place: People of any age, race, ethnicity, religion, immigration status, educational background, lived experience, gender, sexuality, disability, or neurodivergence can bring wisdom into the space.
Find each other: Expand your idea of who could be a friend in the room - maybe it's someone of a different gender or with different interests than you but who shares similar values. The purpose of this time is to deepen our understanding of our own behavior and needs in relationships, form new connections, and learn from others’ perspectives, not to focus only on the struggles or unmet needs in our current friendships.
Say what you mean to say: Often, forming meaningful connections requires vulnerability and authentic expression. Tell someone when you appreciated their presence. Alternatively, if someone says something you may want to challenge, we encourage you to speak your mind with consideration to how you deliver the message. Remember to honor confidentiality, assuming what people share in this space is just meant for those in this space.
Curate curiosity: Ask what we call, at Found, a firestarter, the follow up question after someone shares their initial thoughts. The firestarter sparks a warm connection, diving below superficial questions and showing a genuine interest. These questions tend to ask why, how, or seek more detailed information on a specific focus in relation to what the person shared.
